An new initiative to reduce the number of Young Driver Fatalities
The age group of 17-20 are almost 10 times more likely to be killed or seriously injured than any other group of drivers.  Theatre in Education had been used to raise the dangers of driving to young people – but was it still working?  Did we need something new?

DropBox LogoNottingham City Council Road Safety Department engaged Dropbox Productions to research and design a new educational project based on real trial transcripts of dangerous driving involving young people.  We also co-ordinated the involvement of the Emergency Services and the Judiciary.  The final production was piloted successfully and is now being rolled out to schools throughout Nottingham.

Court in Time is only one initiative in a wider strategy being implemented by Nottngham City Council’s Road Safety Department.

Zero Fatalities

Nottingham has achieved zero fatalities for the drivers of the 17-25 age group during the previous three years.  This compares with an average of six per year ten to twelve years ago.

The Agency of Fate

DropBox Logo

“What if need was a colour? Maybe need IS yellow.”

DropBox was commissioned to develop a new performance to encourage multi agency working.  The Agency of Fate was performed as part of the Post Custody Education Forum Conference.  This Conference was aimed at  building an education network to increase positive outcomes for young people being released from custody.

DropBox conducted a series of interviews with young people and staff from a variety of support organisations together with wide literacy research.

“The Agency of Fate” followed Johnny Diamond who had “been falling through the cracks of public policy for some time”.

“I’m looking for a way out…..but I must have got it wrong somehow, because I’m back where I started.  Same place, different time.  Press Replay”
